The name Rhizobia, comes from the Greek words rhiza, meaning root, and bios, meaning life. This is because Rhizobia provides life to plants through their roots.

Rhizobia is a eubacteria. This means that it is a "true bacteria" becuase it is rod-shaped and basic.
